  • Why a team need a Software Architect? Actually, they don't need one…but they have to understand and practicing enough 'software design' in order to deliver a good product increment. I think we can apply the same thinking for the Agile Coach role. Let's get Manoel Pimentel's perspective for the discipline Agile Coaching (The Agile Coaching DNA). If the team/company understand and practice enough in all those 5 areas I think they don't need an Agile Coach at all. But, of course, in order to arrive there we will need better and truly self-organised/cross-functional team/groups and better line managers in place — what is not reality for several companies yet. If this is the scenario, my tracking records are showing me that working with ScrumMasters/AgileCoaches as part of the product development flow, in charge of that, is more effective to accelerate business agility than having one in the "enterprise level".
  • Maybe the same way we are measuring how useful other team members are? What is the impact of her activities on product increment, team productivity, customer satisfaction and organisational culture?
